Westside vs Westbury Christian

This was an eye opener for the Westside Wolves. After losing a winnable game against Cy Fair, the defeated a Breaux-less Elkins and took a loss against Westbury Christian last night. Is this any reason to sound any alarms for the Wolves? Of course not! Coach Troy Gillespie runs from no challenge, he doesn't care what happens now, maybe he does just a tad, however he knows in the long run, this will pay off, three Region 3 Final Fours in years speaks for itself.
Before we get started, let me introduce Erin Grant to you,no need to Google, I'm right here. Grant is an assistant coach at UTA, she was a star at Texas Tech and get this. She is the ONLY player in Texas to win FOUR consecutive 5A State Championships!

Rachel Cumbo and Tiffany Davis are the primary offensive threats for the Wolves, Cumbo appears to be at full strength and Davis has just come back from volleyball. The Wolves were down 36-27 at the half.
The Wolves cut the lead down to as little as four in the third quarter on the strength of Jamiyla Deboise, who got injured and had to leave the game

Amber Orrange put the team on her back in the last two minutes scoring two field goals and dishing a couple of dimes and WC was on a 10-0 run just like that
A three pointer by Sylvana Okde at the 3 minute mark gave WC a commanding 20 point lead, 60-40

Even though Fallon Ellis was hampered by foul trouble, WC pulled it off 81-59. That's huge because Westside is one of the hardest playing teams that don't mind banging at both ends

Cumbo led the Wolves with 17 points
Four WC players scored in double figures. Turner led the way with 31 and probably had close to a triple double. She was followed by Orrange with 17, Okde with 10

Caitlin Diaz also dropped 10 for the WC

AG is all smiles as we get close to the end

Rachel Strom and Ayramis Glenn have been with the program and know what it's about. These seniors may not start but provide key minutes for the Lady Wildcats. The question still remainsas far as how  Westbury Christian compares with the other teams in the area and of course, if it's basketball related
