Why do I call her "THE CHOSEN ONE? Because I CHOSE to and she can play with ANYONE. Brooke McCarty opened her up high school career with 23 points. This Clear Springs team is a sleeper, remember I called it early.
Monique Bradford gave Courtney Williams and North Shore something Cassie Peoples will need for Cy Fair to be a serious contender and that's another offensive threat. Bradford had a breakout game of 27 as the Shore handled Dekaney on Dekaney's home court, 62-48. Mo is making a serious jump in the Class of 2012.
Rachel "GIG EM" Mitchell and Rachel Arthur were joined by Chrishauna Parker and Curtyce Knox in double figures as they handled Clear Brook. Let's see, Westbury Christain, check, Hightower, check, whoa, once again, and let me thank my good friend RG once again for given me the name that riles some of the guys, GURU! Well, once again the Guru hits it big, no Brooke was a "NO BRAINER"
Keylantra "Kiki" Taylor is one of the top posts in the Class of 2011 and she plays for Klein Forest, which hasn't been known as a basketball powerhouse. I recall reading somewhere about the "Big Three" coming over and making some noise right off the top. Now where did I see that? Oh, I know! BIG THREEKiki scored 17 points led Klein Forest to a big upset win over Memorial, 71-68. Freshmen Ebony Parker and Ekiya Gray chipped in 16 and 12 respectively. What's so impressive is Memorial is a very good team and many think will make a run for the district title. Madi Miller and Ellen Anderson scored 18 each for Memorial, while Kelly Wilson added 12. Speaking of Memorial, GPR will be hand to watch them go against Kendall Shaw and Barbers Hill on Friday at Memorial. GPR will also check out the Conroe Tournament on Thursday and Saturday, well Thursday for sure.
The action was fast and furious at Westside last night. Cassie Peoples put on an offensive clinic scoring 30 sumpin points in the defending State Champions season opener, yes sumpin is a word. Complete rundown in "UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT" on the front page of GPR
