Ganon Baker Camp Wrap Up

TALENT GALORE!

Before I finish with the camp, let me go back in time. These two kids, Jasmyn Howard and Jo-Ann Lira had their moments in the playoffs last season, so, drum roll please

WHO WILL BE THE ONE TO GET OUT OF R-3?

Five out of last years Elite 8 had key players on hand this weekend and even though Aaliyah Brown's Clear Springs team came up a tad short, they will be in the mix with a healthy Maleeka Loydrake back, Lira and other new additions including "The Chosen One"
Okay, l'll wrap it up folks, I always find ways to humor myself.

There were "LOT'S" of talented guards

There was also talented bigs, including Jessica Jackson from Arkansas and Louisiana's own Derrayl Youngblood. In the middle is none another than Kelsey Lang from the Woodlands. The camp had established stars!

And it also had plenty of kids who will be stars before it's over with. With over 100 kids in camp, several of them already stars and can't miss prospects, 4 of which have already given verbals to various colleges, you had to have more than one All Star Game. I guarantee at least 70% of these kids will play at the next level and to be honest with you, I saw enough talent where you could group together 3, 4 or 5 even players, that could make several college teams contenders in various conferences. To give you an idea of the quality of players, you had 3 of Hoopgurlz.com Top 100 from the Class of 2011, Rachel Mitchell, Tori Scott and Ronisha Major. You had two of their Terrific 25 from 2012, Moriah Jefferson and Courtney Williams, several from their 2013 and 2014 Watch Lists including Alex Lapeyrolerie and AJ Alix. You also had 3 of the top 10 listed on ASGR from the Class of 2014, Brianna Turner, Recee Caldwell and Brook McCarty and some 2015 players, like Jordan Hosey and Kyra Lambert that will make some noise before it's all said and done.

A.J. "Real Deal"Alix once again solidified my message board so called "guru" status after leading Bellaire to the R-3 finals last year, however I have a pretty good track record as far as spotting talent and once again, I told you so!  Brooke Mc Carty "The Chosen One" had me sold when she was around 9 or 10 years old, you can just see it in some players at very early ages.

There were plenty of battles inside, outside, away from the ball, you name it such as Jessica and Tori, Briana and Rachel, wait, while we are on the subject of Briana, this kid may wind up being the best player to come out of Houston, ever, providing she continues improving and making the jumps like she has the past two season.

Kurtyce and Moriah went hard all weekend against each other, after all, they are two of top guards in the Class of 2012

Courtney was a beast, she battled everyone no matter what size. The way this kid was going, North Shore will be in the mix again this season.

Taylor is serious and I will see you and Madison this weekend

Brooke and Lu Lu getting ready to go to work for their freshmen season!

Another 2014, Di' Mond Jackson from the great state of Louisiana

Lauren, the PRICE is right and Tierany Henderson went at it hard the whole All Star Game.

Silky and Aaliyah provided a whole lot of offense over the weekend

Jaclyn and Kelsey fought to the end

While Recee played well beyond her years

Rachel Mitchell hopes to help lead Atascocita to the promised land, aka Austin. When you combine her with Lauren Price, Krishauna Parker and then you seal the vault with Kurtyce"Fort" Knox, that is a very impressive foursome and I will be getting an up close and personal look at them this weekend . Briana Turner is playing at Westbury Christian along with Stanford bound Amber Orrange and Iowa State bound Fallon Ellis, plus newcomers Caitlin"Beast" Diaz and sharpshooter Sylvana Okde, call her "Silky". With all of this firepower Westbury Christian should be able to play with anyone.

Brooke is on the attack while GB is working on his strategy

M&M on the outside while Tori's on Deeeeeeeeeeeee

Don't mess with TANK!

Moriah will lead THESA against many of the top public school teams this season, while Ronisha hopes to lead Huntsville to state

Wall to wall fans loved the action and Cienna loved running her team

GB giving instructions and like that old EF Hutton commercial, when he speaks, they listen. Okay, I gave it a remix!

Folks I do this because there is a lack of exposure in GBB, especially in the Houston area. This blog was intended to try and give all the kids a few props, not just the ones who are can't misses or will be playing at the next level. My website will be up in a matter of days and there won't be anything like it down here in H-Town. I plan on taking this to another level and when it launches, I will post it on here. If you have any news, feel free to email me, along with your schedules because again, I am in this truly for the kids.

In closing, I want to once again thank Kelvin Powell and Ganon Baker for inviting me last year along with having me come back this year. Like Arnold said "I'll be back next year" another remix. Seriously, why will I be back? Because Ganon Baker's camps are like Ringling Brothers Circus, it's the greatest camp on earth, yet another remix!
